I'll admit that I enjoyed the outdoor NHL game back on New Years Day, but do we really need outdoor basketball? The Phoenix Suns are planning on playing one of their games at an tennis venue, in next year's preseason. The worst part is, I bet it will do a great rating, preseason wise that is. For some reason people are amazed when somethings context is changed. The NHL game was one thing, because the elements only served to enhance the game, whereas in an NBA game the elements can be ruinous. If there is even the slightest amount of rain the game will have to be canceled, hell they take breaks in games to mop up the floor when a player falls and leaves a streak of sweat. Now if they were going to play an outdoor game at Rucker Park in NYC in the middle of January, with the players all in sweat suits and stocking caps, I'd be down for watching that. Otherwise, the game won't be that much different, and I'll ignore it just like every other NBA game, preseason or regular season.

It would be cool if while they were playing outside a "crew" rolled up and called nex. And then after that jacked them all for their 10 pound medallions that they wear while playing these days. Either that or if first possession was determined by a friendly game of HORSE...
